Tecumseh Building - Springfield, Ohio - William Earl Russ, Architect

3-29-06: Today we went to Springfield, Ohio to see the newly restored Westcott House by Frank Lloyd Wright. First, however, we had to take a detour downtown to see another building waiting to be restored: The Tecumseh Building; designed by the same man who designed the 1928 Terre Haute House, Architect William Earl Russ. The building has been vacant for some time and is supposedly going to be turned into 37 loft/condos. However, according to a man we spoke to nearby, the renovation has stalled due to city and state building codes. Hopefully, this one will have a happy ending! The columns, though much taller, were very similar and the lobby still retained numerous original features.
